Terms of Use

Last updated: July 27, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the MayMay mobile and web applications and related services ("MayMay", "the Service"). By using MayMay, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

MayMay is not an emergency service and is not a medical device. Do not rely on MayMay to summon help in an emergency, to deliver time-critical health information, or as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

1. What MayMay does

MayMay lets a family member or caregiver exchange messages with an older adult ("the recipient") across languages. Messages are automatically translated, and the recipient can reply by tapping suggested or preconfigured responses. Translation is performed by an automated third-party service.

Automated translation can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or other consequential decisions without independent verification by a qualified human.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create a caregiver account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Recipients connect using a short-lived pairing code issued by a caregiver and are not required to create their own account.

You must have permission from the recipient (or appropriate legal authority) before connecting them to MayMay and exchanging messages with them.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Some MayMay features may require a paid subscription. Where subscriptions are offered:

4. Message retention

Messages are automatically deleted after a retention period selected by the caregiver. Deletion is performed by an automated process and may take up to approximately three additional days after the selected period elapses. MayMay does not guarantee that a message will remain available for any minimum period, and you should not use MayMay as a system of record.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use MayMay to send unlawful, harassing, abusive, deceptive, or infringing content; to impersonate another person; to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or another user's data; or to interfere with the operation of the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the messages and images you send. You grant MayMay a limited licence to store, transmit, process, and translate that content solely to operate the Service. Message content is processed by third-party providers as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and disclaimers

MayMay is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that messages or notifications will be delivered, or that translations will be accurate.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MayMay and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Termination

You may stop using MayMay and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. On account deletion, associated data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use MayMay after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
