MayMay ("the app", "we", "us") is a communication tool that helps family members stay in touch with seniors. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and with whom we share it.
Information We Collect
Family member accounts: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider.
Senior accounts: Seniors use anonymous sign-in — no name, email, or password is required. A randomly generated identifier is assigned to the device.
Display names: The name a family member enters for the senior they are connecting with, and the relationship label they choose.
Messages: Text messages sent through the app, their translations, and AI-generated reply suggestions. Messages are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
Preferences: Font size settings saved per conversation.
How We Use Your Information
To deliver and translate messages between family members and seniors.
To generate suggested quick-reply options for seniors.
To maintain your account and conversation history within the app.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
Third-Party Services
MayMay relies on the following third-party services to operate:
Google Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication, database, and cloud functions. Message content is stored in Firebase Firestore and processed via Firebase Cloud Functions. Firebase Privacy Policy
Anthropic Claude API (Anthropic, PBC) — Message text is sent to Anthropic's API to perform translation and generate reply suggestions. Anthropic processes this content to provide the response and does not use it to train models by default. Anthropic Privacy Policy
Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — Used to authenticate family member accounts. Authentication is handled by the respective provider.
Data Retention
Messages are automatically deleted 24 hours after they are sent.
Account information (name, email, pairing links) is retained until you delete your account.

Children's Privacy
MayMay is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
